We have a truly unique southern California weather system here in San Clemente, the shape of our coastal canyons traps the offshore sea air & keeps it here all day reducing the temperature by approx 20 degrees, it has been about 75 degrees here for weeks, even when it's over 100 in all nearby cities. It can be considered life threatening to not have an air conditioner in most of southern California during the summer, but in San Clemente it's not been needed for the almost twenty years of me living here. Many people tout license plate frames that say” SAN CLEMENTE THE BEST CLIMETE IN THE WORLD”
