Great new review by

Ex
Machina
is
one
of
those
album
that
you
stumble
across
and
assume
that
it's
a
bands
third
or
fourth
release
thanks
to
its
strong
song
writing
and
polished
feel.
Needless
to
say
I
was
quite
taken
aback
when
I
discovered
that
this
is
in
fact
Shaolin
Temple
of
Boom's
debut
E.P.
and
was
recorded
almost
entirely
by
the
bands
founder
David
Alvarez.
David's
talent
is
apparent
from
the
get
go
as
he
seamlessly
blends
various
styles
from
alternative,
to
metal,
to
progressive
rock
and
industrial.
Each
track
takes
on
a
distinctly
different
feel
yet
the
album
maintains
a
great
continuity
throughout.
The
song
writing
is
original
and
structurally
complex,
resulting
in
an
album
that
has
received
about
ten
spins
over
the
last
two
days
alone.
It's
an
album
that's
both
straight
forward
enough
to
kick
back
to
and
complex
enough
to
immerse
yourself
in.
Each
tracks
intro
begins
with
subtle
industrial
touches
that
expand
into
fantastic
rhythms
and
progressive
elements
and
great
vocals.
From
the
highly
charged,
melodic
'Inside'
to
the
folk
like,
Agalloch
inspired
ending
of
'Entwined'
it
is
clear
that
David
Alvarez
is
not
afraid
to
experiment
and
give
the
music
a
sense
of
depth
that
few
other
Alternative
Rock
bands
can.
The
30
minute
runtime
is
more
than
enough
to
get
the
point
across
and
it
is
certainly
enough
to
make
me
anxious
for
a
full
length
release.
The
album
can
be
listened
to
in
its
entirety
on
the
bands
MySpace
page
so
what
are
you
waiting
for,
get
out
there
and
checkout
this
great
band!"
